B2B has been widely identified as the first wave of e-business for many companies, so the fact that interest levels have dipped slightly is not surprising. However, organisations have certainly not turned their backs on e-business initiatives in other areas.
Half of our current sample say they are developing or buying business-to-consumer (B2C) systems, compared to a third a year ago. And the investment in internal e-business systems has more than doubled, with 36% saying they are making developments or purchases in this area – compared to just 14% last time around.
