New role for EAI - Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3

  SURVEY STATISTICS

We interviewed a wide range of organisations for this year’s Conspectus survey on enterprise application integration issues.

Close to half (44%) of the sample were very large companies, with turnovers above £1 billion, while nearly a quarter (24%) had a turnover in excess of £5 billion. Smaller enterprises were also represented – 16% of the sample had a turnover in the £50 million to £100 million range.

Our respondents came from a variety of industry sectors, with financial services particularly strongly represented. 10% of the companies polled were in the insurance industry, and 16% came from the banking and finance area. In addition, 10% of replies were from public sector organisations.

IT IS BECOMING a commonplace to say that e-business has changed the rules of the business game for most companies. And while it has levelled the playing field for some, online working also demands organisations move faster and compete more widely than ever before.

Those requirements, in turn, are placing a huge strain on most organisations’ IT development plans.
