 PROFILE

Company: Hunter Douglas Europe.

Interviewee: Aart Van Leeuwen.

Job Title: Information systems service manager.

The Subject: Windows coverings manufacturer Hunter Douglas has used data integration software to build a web front end to its SAP manufacturing system.

Q: WHAT KIND OF MANUFACTURING COMPANY IS HUNTER DOUGLAS?

A: Virtually all of our products are aluminium-based, and we have plants handling everything from melting the aluminium to assembling the final end products for the consumers.

This is done at different locations around the world. For instance in Rotterdam, where I am based, we have a plant which produces the flat sheets of aluminium from which parts can be cut later, and also a special type of coiled spring. But the assembly is done elsewhere.
